Does Julian & JoaQuin Castro Also Believe Alamo Defenders Were "Drunks & Crooks?" (9/6/12)

Picture
As the old saying goes: “the fruit don’t fall far from the tree,” therefore I am left wondering, does Julian and Joaquin Castro feel the same way their Mother does who is quoted as saying  [in reference to the Alamo Defenders]  that they were all “a bunch of drunks and crooks and slave holding imperialists who conquered land that didn’t belong to them.” She further more told The New York Times Magazine. “I can truly say that I hate that place [the Alamo] and everything it stands for.” I WILL NOT ALLOW Ms. Castro to insult my Tejano Brothers and Sisters, my mother’s, mine, my children’s, grandchild’s, sister’s and nephews and nieces ancestors (no less than 10 ancestors) who immigrated to Texas prior to Dec 29, 1845, one of whom came with Austin’s 300 and MANY more who fought at  the Battle of San Jacinto, shoulder to shoulder with Sam Houston, Juan Seguin and many other noble hearts that only wanted freedom from a dictator.

So – with that said here is my answer to Ms. Maria del Rosario Castro and a stern warning to Julian and Joaquin – I am calling yall out and putting my efforts towards helping my friend and fellow Conservative David Rosa in CD 20:

This statement does so much injustice to the people of Texas and our forefathers (both Anglo and Tejano) who squared and leveled the foundation upon which our great state was built, that I feel called upon to vindicate them from the imputation so unjust and injurious as to place Ms. Castro in possession of the facts.

The Anglo Americans were invited into Texas by the Mexican government and they settled under the Constitution of 1824 and the laws guaranteeing them the rights and privileges that constituted an inducement to leave the land of their birth and seek a home among strangers.  The Mexican government made those inducements and granted those immunities to the Americans to place a barrier between the Mexican population and the various Indian tribes that resided on their frontier and made frequent interruptions into their territories. In this the Mexican government succeeded. As long as the American population who came to Texas, and became Mexican citizens, as bona fide as though they were born on the soil, were permitted to enjoy the rights and immunities guaranteed to them by the Constitution, and laws under which they had settled in the country, they remained quiet and obedient to the laws.

But when the constitution under which the Americans had been invited into Texas was subverted by violence, and a military despotism erected upon the ruins of the Federal Union, the people of Texas met in solemn convention and declared their determination not to submit to this lawless usurpation. Not wishing to sever the federal compact, the Texans also invited the other Mexican states to unite with them. they did not make any declaration or take up arms until Santa Anna had invaded the country at the head of a formidable army threatening the extermination of the Anglo Americans within the limits of Texas, a threat that he carried out with precision that the events of revolution in 1836 grew, the results of which is known worldwide. The fortune of war also placed the author of all their troubles and calamities, Santa Anna himself, in the possession of the Texans and instead of sacrificing him to the spirit of revenge, as was their right to do, the Texans instead set him free along with his countrymen which numbered more than the whole of the Texas army.

Furthermore Ms. Castro – Juan Seguin, José Antonio Navarro, Antonio Hernandez Zavala, and a list that contains no less than 300 Tejano Patriots from the Texas Revolution and are fondly remembered in our lore as very important to the UNIFIED struggle against the Dictator Santa Anna that are listed in Military Rosters and Archival Land Records in Austin.

Here’s a question for you Ms. Castro from my Patriot Brother, Richard Buitron of San Antonio “would you say this to my ancestor Juan Losoya?”

Your remarks are offensive to both Tejano and Anglo Sons and Daughters of the Republic of Texas and I can’t help but wonder if your boys Julian and Joaquin HATE America and Texas as much as you do?

It would do you well Ms. Castro well to read up a little and familiarize yourself with facts rather than hyperbole and clichés that are simply nothing more than race baiting.

In regards to Texas U.S. Congressional District 20 in West Bexar County allow me to talk about a REAL Patriot who lives and encompasses the values we Conservatives value –David Rosa.  Allow me to tell you a small bit about David Rosa and encourage you to check out his website, friend him on Facebook and ask David questions.

David has learned in life that the basic principles of business never change. If you work hard and provide a product or service that people want, you can sell it to cover your costs and make a profit. He believes that under President Obama and his administration a business is demonized for being profit driven and that over-regulation since 2009 is oppressive on existing businesses and an obstacle for any new businesses to get started. David’s goal is seek the proper balance between the government and the economy, and enforce that solution.

On healthcare, David is an independent insurance agent and has provided health care services to many large companies and individuals. Through his work in the Insurance industry, David has discovered the majority of doctors, nurses, and health care professionals that he has dealt with all agree that the current status quo is not sufficient for America’s health care needs.
